BPCE

Strategy, UX & UI

What are the ways to help risk analysts from disparate banking institutions harness sets of data to their advantage thanks to AI?

The group

The BPCE group is the second biggest banking entity in France, and risk analysis is a core element that can be overseen from a localized area such as a city, all the way up to a global scale.

The Data Science department is gathering internal and external datas to be able to help analysts make decisions. When the data models were proven efficient it was time to deliver the results to analysts over the whole group on an interface

Scope & Role

I was responsible for facilitating a collaboration between the risk and data science departments, in order to ensure the data they extracted could be of use to the end user. The goal was to create an interface suitable enough to meet a variety of needs.

For months, UX Research has been carried out, involving interviews, focus groups, workshops and surveys with all types of users. This has granted us a better understanding of what is important to them.

My methodology

1 – Build a MVP

2 – Recruit beta tester

3 – Test & learn

4 – Iterate

5 – Open Beta

6 – Test & learn

7 – Add features

8 – Iterate & Launch

Data vizualisation

A crucial component of the experience was data vizualisation. We had to take into account the varying levels of knowledge and expertise amongst the analysts, finding a balance between UX/UI and technical solutions to ensure that all types of users could grasp the information presented in our graphs.

We had to come up with new components out of the design system in order to address particular necessities. Additionally, we needed to develop a new value so users could comprehend the importance of the data displayed.

Working with Neo

Neo is BPCE’s design system that I had the luck to use, see evolve and work at it’s core. It’s a state of the art design system that allowed us to create very easily pages for our product

I thoroughly enjoyed working with this design system on different products :

  • The group’s primary banking app
  • Risk analysis tool

The versitality of Neo allowed for a great deal of design freedom
within the design system which is essential for me
